The Senior Global Mobility Manager is responsible for driving the global mobility strategy and vision to align with Akamai’s business needs. This position oversees the ongoing development and management of our global mobility, expatriate tax, and immigration programs. This includes being a subject matter expert and consultant to HR colleagues, key stakeholders, and business leaders.

About the Team

The Global Mobility & Immigration team is part of Akamai’s HR Strategic Programs group. This role will work with a diverse set of stakeholders that include business executives, HR leaders, the Talent Acquisition team, functional and regional HR Business Partners, Finance, Legal, Corporate Tax, and Payroll.


*Evolve Akamai’s global mobility programs, policies, and administration to provide the Company and our business leaders a competitive edge in attracting and retaining international talent. This includes U.S. international transfers, expatriate assignments, and U.S. domestic relocation.

*Manage expatriate tax programs and processes including compensation collection, tax equalization, and global tax services.

*Partner with our Learning & Development team to drive and improve effective and efficient management of expatriate assignments in order to help cultivate high potentials.

*Advise, influence, and collaborate with HR, Talent Acquisition, and business leaders to facilitate their use of mobility and immigration policies and procedures.

*Develop forecasting models to ensure HR and the business is prepared for fluctuations in mobility and immigration activity, including required budget and resources.

*Manage program budgets including forecasting and revising quarterly budgets, tracking and reconciling monthly accruals, managing global cross-charging process, and ensuring cost efficacy.

*Collaborate closely with vendor partners to ensure Akamai and its employees receive world-class services and support. Understand and drive more effective engagements through a comprehensive understanding of vendor capabilities, business reviews, cost containment and operations.

*Manage a small, but highly effective team focused on global immigration support

*Conduct cyclical benchmarking to identify opportunities that improve and keep us ahead of the industry on program offerings, operational practices, costs and other emerging trends.

*Partner with our global site development team to conduct new country due diligence. Identify risks and opportunities relative to employment law, talent availability, political stability, economic conditions and more.

*Personally oversee, manage and act as a trusted advisor on complex or sensitive cases.

*You should be driven by a desire to provide the highest level of customer service, including being intuitive and dynamic in your interactions.

*You should be naturally curious, creative, a good problem solver, resourceful and accountable.

Required Education and Experience

Applicants must meet one of the following education and experience requirements:

*Bachelor’s Degree in International Business, Human Resources or a related field or its equivalent related professional experience

Required Skills

*10 years of experience within a global HR environment

*10 years of mobility related experience

*Excellent interpersonal skills that include the ability to quickly assess your audience and calibrate your message accordingly.

*Strong multi-cultural fluency of work practices, communication styles, and social protocols.

*Passion about working with and learning from individuals at every level of the organization.

*Proven analytical comfort and ability that includes quantifying the value/ROI of functions you’ve led.

*Proven ability to work productively both independently and as an integral member of various teams.

*Willingness to attend meetings/calls outside of traditional office hours to accommodate different time zones.

*Very strong facilitations skills and able to communicate with a wide array of audiences to inform and educate.

*Expertise and ability to leverage Global Mobility knowledge to influence talent strategy, including leadership development.

*Desire to manage talented and experienced team members by providing both autonomy and support
