Our Security sales team focuses on the development and selling of our new and advanced API Security solution. With XDR-like API visibility combined with behavioral analytics, Akamai can protect our customers against the emerging threats that traditional WAF and API-Gateway security solutions cannot. Our goal is to secure, protect and accelerate customer's API enabled business as a cloud security service.

Partner with the best

The API Security business operates as a Sales Pursuit Team with deep domain knowledge of top-notch customers' digital business, network infrastructure, security and application access requirements. You will collaborate with the wider Akamai team and channel partners to pursue and generate sales opportunities. You will demonstrate a high level of leadership with our customers and Akamai sales teams.

As an API Security Sales Specialist, you will be responsible for:

  • Fostering long-term, trusted relationships by understanding customer needs and being an advocate for Akamai

  • Demonstrating an adaptive, resourceful sales approach with undefined customer landscapes

  • Becoming a subject matter expert in the enterprise security domain, touching on infrastructure, application, networking and security

  • Generating demand for additional products and services within your assigned accounts to grow existing revenue

  • Working with integrated cross-functional teams to ensure customer's requirements are successfully delivered

  • Having the ability to build varied senior executive relationships across a business' organisation

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have experience in large enterprise accounts and sales, high-touch sales and cross selling products

  • Demonstrate experience of account management and channel strategy

  • understand how to drive sales strategy in a matrix-organised environment

  • Be able to work in a collaborative, results oriented environment

  • Be a self-starter, excited about working in an entrepreneurial, fast paced environment

  • Have a ability to build executive level relationships with high-level customers CXO

  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills in Japanese

  • As a plus, possess experience with Web-API related areas, API Gateway (ex. Apigee, Mulesoft, Kong) , WAF, DevSecOps
