Join our Threat Research team!
Our Threat Research team uses Data Science and massive amounts of Akamai network traffic data to enhance the threat intelligence that is used in multiple Akamai products. Our customers include network operators and enterprises. The team is spread across multiple countries and collaborates closely with many other teams across the Akamai Security Research community.

You'll play a pivotal role in helping us mitigate the most sophisticated security threats on the Internet. You'll help us identify network and application layer attacks and mitigate these threats. You will help us protect millions of people.
As a Data Scientist Senior II, you will be responsible for:
Proposing, researching and building algorithms and ML models
Optimizing our existing network and application layer threat intelligence
Working in the cloud using scalable big data and machine learning technologies
Deploying your work to production by cooperating with our MLOps team
Sharing occasionally your findings with the world on our Security Research blog
Do what you love
To be successful in this role you will:
Be curious and constantly learning
Be taking ownership of your projects, navigating the obstacles you may encounter
Be able to train and optimize impactful machine learning models
Be focused on improving the threat detection efficacy of our team
Be experienced with Python, Spark, Pandas/Polars, SQL and GIT
Be able to identify the best tool for the task (such as Linode, DataBricks, Kafka and Power BI)
Have knowledge of or experience with LLM's, computer networks, cybersecurity, computer science - nice to have
